July Meeting: A Tribute to Bob Little

The Missouri Aviation Historical Society will hold their next meeting on Thursday, July 21st 2016 at Creve Coeur Airport. This month’s meeting will feature a special tribute to local Missourian Bob Little. Among his many career highlights, Little served in the United States Army Air Corps and as lead test pilot for the McDonnell Douglas aircraft company.

During his time at McDonnell Douglas, Little made the maiden flight of the F-4 Phantom II which would go on to be one of the most successful fighter aircraft in history. Recently the 2016 Spirit of St. Louis Airshow and S.T.E.M. Expo hosted one of the last F-4 Phantom aircraft in active USAF inventory. With less than two dozen left at Holloman AFB, the Phantom will be phased out of military service at the end of 2016.

A coordination of airshow crew, the 82nd Aerial Target Squadron, MOAVHIST, and HEC-TV gave way to the production of a special presentation where Bob Little, the world’s first F-4 Phantom Pilot, met the soon to be last Col. Ronald “Elvis” King. The society is proud to host the debut screening of this special news story for all attendee’s.

Admission is free, and refreshments are available. View driving directions.
