Members of the Missouri Aviation Historical Society, HEC-TV, and the Greater St. Louis Air and Space Museum recently attended the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase held annually at the Tivoli Theater off Delmar. Missouri WWII Veteran: Airborne Again After 72 Years

The Missouri Aviation Historical Society recently teamed up with HEC-TV to record and honor WWII veteran Tom Mohan. Tom flew as a gunner in the SBD Dauntless, and was able to fly again in the very same type during the 2014 Spirit of St. Louis Airshow and S.T.E.M. Expo. Spirit Airshow and S.T.E.M. Expo Roars into St. Louis

The skyline above Spirit of St. Louis airport roared for the first time in seven year’s as the airport celebrated its 50th year in operation. Celebrations included a world-class airshow, Veterans Village resource center, and the newly conceived S.T.E.M. MOAVHIST Participates in local S.T.E.M. activities

The Missouri Aviation Historical Society recently participated in S.T.E.M. week at Prairie View Elementary School. MOAVHIST member Joe Gurney took his traveling Blue Angels presentation to Cynthia Ivancic’s classroom which included custom made handouts of an F/A-18 Hornet, photos, books, and other exciting manipulative’s. Mrs. Ivancic’s son is also a T-45 Goshawk instructor pilot for the U.S. Marine Corps who attended the classroom and other S.T.E.M. night activities. Photos below show all the […]

March Meeting- A Celebration of Lt. Commander Edward H. “Butch” O’Hare

  The March meeting of the Missouri Aviation Historical Society took place on March 27th, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. This month’s meeting was focused on the life and impact of the late Edward H. “Butch” O’Hare.
